COAST TO COAST IN SINGAPORE
On a beautiful, drizzling morning, my friend and I commenced on a delightful walk from Jurong Lake Gardens, mesmerized by the natural beauty that surrounded us. The lush greenery, vibrant flowers, and the gentle drizzle created a serene atmosphere. As we continued our coast-to-coast journey, crossing the enchanting Chinese Gardens, the path eventually led us onto the main road. The transition from the tranquility of the gardens to the bustling main road marked a shift in scenery, offering a unique contrast to our nature-filled walk.
As we continued our urban walk, we eventually reached Bukit Batok Nature Park and strolled inside, eventually entering the other side of Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. We took a short break to have breakfast at Al-Azaar Food Court and then continued our journey.
On the way to Bougainvillea Park, the walk became monotonous as the stretch was entirely along pathways. However, the journey to the Botanical Gardens was a stark contrast, with nature's beauty unfolding in abundance. En route, the captivating trees evoked the feeling of being in the midst of fall season, and the road eventually led us to Kheam Hock Park.
During our journey, nature took center stage, showcasing unbelievable trees and captivating landscapes. Halfway to MacRitchie, the rain joined us, but it didn't dampen our spirits. After a brief break, we proceeded to Ang Mo Kio, making a quick stop for lunch at SOD CAFE. I must highlight the delicious Avocado and Nacho chips and Butter Croissant they served.
After a brief pause, we resumed our journey to Sengkang Riverside Park. The scenic walk along the beautiful canal towards Punggol Waterway Park was simply superb. Our steps eventually led us to the captivating Coney Island. Completing this remarkable 44.45km hike was a fulfilling accomplishment, taking a total of 10 hours.
